I do not build stock guitars. Each instrument is unique but based on an established platform. I build every guitar myself from start to finish. When I build my guitars I am not striving to achieve “my sound.” Instead, I try to bring out the best sound in each instrument. I have found that each piece of wood is different and has its own sound. The playability of the instruments is a high priority for me, and I feel that my set-ups are second to none. The following is a description of the process used to create my guitars.

ARCHTOPS

These guitars are built using traditional materials and techniques that include fully hand tap-tuned top and back plates. Options are only limited by availability of material. My guitars can be designed to suit specific needs based on how they will be used. For example recording, playing clubs, big band situations, etc. In addition, custom molds or shapes can be created.

SHB STYLE

SHB Style is a construction technique I created. Any solid body guitar style can have the SHB Style construction. These guitars look like solid body instruments but are constructed using elements of archtop guitar design. This type of construction makes these guitars light weight and gives them more acoustic qualities. The end result is a guitar that has the tone of a heavy solid body guitar without the weight. My method for creating these guitars takes them way beyond chambering. Chambering just to make a guitar light tends to weaken the tone. I know this may be a simple explanation of these guitars, so please feel free to contact me for more information.
